A fuel injection system for direct injection diesel engines with a depression in the tops of the pistons. A second injection pump has a regulator and accompanying second injector for each cylinder, the second injectors being disposed to inject fuel obliquely from the side into the respective piston depression in a direction counter to the rotation of the intake air before the fuel from the first injectors is injected.

4 The invention relates to an engine for use in a high-pressure fuel system.
The aim of the invention is to reduce exhaust emissions.

The system contains a main injection pump 1 with a regulator 2. The pump is a conventional pd-Hbtfi pump, which, through the feed pipes 3, supplies the top piper to the main multi-nozzle 4. Pump 1. has a drive from the crankshaft of a diesel engine through the shaft 5.
The engine is equipped with an additional pump 6 with a regulator, which is a distribution pump that feeds fuel through feed pipes 7 to an additional single-nozzle nozzle 8. Pump 6 is also driven by a crankshaft through a gear drive. A ha 9 connects the pump 6 regulator to the pump 2 regulator 2 and to the gas pedal 10.
The nozzle of the additional nozzle is directed obliquely tangentially to the side of the notch of the piston in the direction B, and the nozzle of the main nozzle is directed along the arrows C. The sections of the cylindrical recess of the piston are made tangentially to its central area of a circle, the radius of which is 0.35-0.45, preferably 0.40, of radius R of the cylindrical recess of the piston.
The system works as follows.
The pump 6 has two adjustments of the volume of injected fuel. A larger injection volume is used only during start-up, and a smaller volume is used during main operation. The injection angle of the first pump 1 is compressed with a lag of about ten degrees of rotation of the crankshaft from the second pump 6, and the two regulators of pumps 1 and 6 are connected through the rod 9 in such a way that with a low compression ratio (idle) the fuel is only pump 6 and, when the compression ratio is increased, the pump 6 increases the injection to its full volume, and then the pump 1 starts operation and its fuel supply increases to the volume of the corresponding diesel operation mode.
When the load of the diesel decreases, the pump 1 "reduces the fuel supply first.
The main pump 1 injects fuel with a low dethan number, and the additional one injects fuel with a high set number.
Thus, the proposed system reduces exhaust emissions by improving the process of mixing and fuel injection characteristics.
